About

Dr. Kristen Kochamba
Dr. Kochamba is a Clinical Psychologist (CA PSY30345) in private practice, specializing in the most empirically supported Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapies with adolescents and adults.
Welcome to my page! I am a licensed clinical psychologist that specializes in working with adolescents and adults struggling with problems related to emotion dysregulation. We all have those moments in life where we cannot seem to get a hold of our emotions, relationships, or work/home responsibilities. At the same time, I truly believe that we are always doing the best we can. Sometimes we simply lack the skills needed to thrive. That’s where I come in! My approach is compassionate, client-centered, and evidence-based. I treat people not disorders. I draw on your innate strengths, while integrating skills to build emotional resilience so you can navigate life with more ease.

I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy and received intensive training in the most empirically sound treatments, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP), and exposure protocols for anxiety, OCD, and trauma. I have trained at highly reputable institutions, including CBT/DBT California, UCLA Semel Institute of Neuropsychiatric Behavior, Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, and Loma Linda University Medical Center. I am passionate about disseminating evidence based treatment and when I am not coaching clients, am engaged in community outreach, writing blogs, research, teaching, and providing supervision. I understand the immense courage it takes to seek therapy and am honored you have landed here. Please reach out for a free 15-minute phone consultation. I look forward to the possibility of working together!
